With all this talk about stealing Venezuela's oil and not an elected politician saying a word, I thought to myself, "Let me request that my funds be sent to me." since I have $54 siting in my Ibotta account. As you see in the picture above, I received an error message. There was a button "Contact Ibotta Care" but when clicked on the button, it basically popped me to the FAQ's (frequently asked questions).
Once I landed in the FAQ landing page, there was a lot of questions and I finally found a question about requesting payout but I got kinda irritated because Ibotta was trying to hold my money hostage.
The agreement is that once I meet the $20 minimum threshold requirement, I can withdraw my money but Ibotta wanted to play some kind of game that is not in their Terms & Agreements.
However, my intuition told me, "Hit the Back button and tap the Withdraw button, again." by golly it worked and my money was in my PayPal account in less than 5 minutes.
Do you remember about 5 years ago, in December, when Ibotta decided to do random account audits for fraud and they froze people's account from cashing out? As far as, I know, Ibotta never explained to these people in any official capacity regarding the matter and some people continued shopping and submitting their receipts to Ibotta and Ibotta ended up terminating their account for fraud and kept the money in their accounts.
A lot of people use Ibotta like it's a bank and it's not. Ibotta is not part of the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) which means if Ibotta does go bankrupt, you can loose the money sitting in your account.
If you have a problem saving money, go to a credit union and open a savings account, I want to say that most credit unions only require like $5 as a minimum to open an account. You can arrange a weekly, bimonthly or a monthly automatic depot in this account.
Don't use Ibotta as a bank because you will get burnt.

Thanks for the heads up on the $2/4 avocado from B of A. Unfortunately, Smart & final is not a participating retailer for the deal. At checkout, the participating retailer needs to be selected and scan the provided barcode to receive up to $2 off.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for letting us know, LS, and I'm sorry that it did not work out for you.๐. I suspect that the rebate apps will be throwing up roadblocks and reasons to deny making payments to us. Twice in the last two weeks, Checkout 51 and Ibotta were trying to deny my cashing out my accounts even though I had met the monetary thresholds. This is a premonition of what is to come in 2026.
