This lady is very emotional because she's trying to print something out for her little girl's birthday party which was 2 days away and she finds out that HP Printer has rolled out a subscription service for the printer she bought 5 years ago.
How the subscription works:
* You pay for a printer
* You pay for the printing paper
* HP will send you a printer cartridge each month
If for some reason you miss payment from your credit card/bank, HP will turn off your printer.
They are essentially putting coupons.com out of business! The other printing companies are waiting to see how this works out for HP before implementing their version of their subscription service.
All of the oligarchs have talked about moving our society to a subscription based service. I believe it was Tim Cooke, the Apple CEO, that spoke about SIRI being monetized. It's my understanding that Apple is going subscriptionize our smartphones, you'll be responsible for the buying the phone, as well as, paying a cellphone carrier but they're going subscriptionize your services, i.e., calls, text messages, weather, steps, time, photos, etc.
The corporate plan is for you to subscriptionize everything and you will have no money because all of your discretionary money will go to subscriptions. McDonald's will be subscriptionize. Walmart will be subscriptionize. You'll need to buy like $100/month for meat and you won't be able to go to the store because people steal too much.
