Sometime, around April of this year, someone in Maryland used like all of my points and most likely, the person told the cashier that she/he wanted to use their points.
As luck would have it, I am literally across street from my Vons and I walk across the street all the time to pick up this and that. The person in Maryland stole my points on a Saturday and I happened to go to my neighborhood Vons on Saturday....and within 48 hours I realized my points were gone.
I called Customer Service and complained that someone had stolen my points. The Customer Service Rep could see that my points was used in Maryland and I went shopping at Vons on the exact same day, the rep issued my points back to my account. However, not too long after that I started having all kinds of issues with my Vons account.
For example, I can no longer log into my account through Vons.com, I can access my account on Vons app which can be a pain when I want to clip my digital coupon.
Now, the GameOn promotion has started and I am getting error message pictured above but a reader, John, left the following comment:
Someone snagged your number to and it is associated with another account. It was previously possible to start multiple accounts online and add unverified phone numbers after the fact. At that time, I don't believe they were matching duplicates.
My account is linked to my Fresh Pass and I cannot recall what the Fresh Pass deal was back December but I think it was free or half off. I will keep that account until December and open another account in the new year.
If you see the "Technical Difficulties" when trying to log into your account, someone may have used your phone for another account. Yes, I tried to resolve the issue with Customer Service and I guess they don't have the authority correct the problem.
