There is always something going on in San Diego each and every weekend. Even if you have no money to spare, you can go to a park in your neighborhood, lay down a blanket and some snacks and read a book. You can't afford a book? Go to the library and check one out. One of the reasons that I love living in a densely populated areas is because we have access to a lot resources. People in San Diego county will literally get up on the weekends and drive to my area to hang out. The closed Rite Aid's parking lot is now paid parking because so many people love coming here! In fact, the city has converted a lot of the street parking into paid parking...so make sure that as you are out and about that you look for free parking!
