It wasn't until today that I realized that almost ALL the people in my neighborhood walking, riding bikes, jogging and overcrowding the restaurants are the federal workers that have been laid off due to the government shutdown. There are throngs of people walking and running around aimlessly on the streets of San Diego and some of you might or might not know that San Diego is a military town, I think we have about 9 or 10 military bases here.
Anyways, I zoomed over to Walmart and picked up the FREE Old El Paso Bowls, Shells and Tortillas and I wanted to point out that there was not a size restriction so I picked up the 20 count taco shells. I paid $9.68 for the Old El Paso items and I got back $11.33 from Fetch.
I also picked up the Arm & Hammer Baking soda and it was while I was in the store, walking to self checkout that I realized that I had written my FREE+MM Arm & Hammer Baking Soda post incorrectly and it's been updated.
At Albertsons, I found the FREE Amylu Chicken Sausage with the regular Ball Park Franks hot dogs.
The Private Selection Ice Cream pint was $0.99 after the Zip Code Advantage x 2 was applied.
The FREE Oreo Cookies are from Ralphs and I had a Best Customer digital coupon for the cookies. The only reason that I am talking about the cookies is get the biggest bang for your buck and what I mean by that is I bought the most expensive Oreos that they had in the store. I want to say the cookies are $6.49, I could have gotten cheaper Oreos BUT I knew that the cookies are going to be a donation item. My family don't normally eat Oreo cookies and so, why not let another family visiting the food locker enjoy the cookies.
The picture above is just a reminder that we just got free Herdez Salsa and the Hidden Harvest Pancake Mix just last month! Yes, we've got a lot of folks out of work but we are still able to feed our families.
