If you are getting any kind of food assistance, you may not have turkey for Thanksgiving because it appears that the feds are not going to distribute the EBT/Food Stamps nor WIC after October 31st. This also for my folks that are part of the working poor but they make just over poverty and so don't quality for food assistance. Most likely, you are going to have to go to a food pantry so you should be doing a google search of the food pantries in your local area. This is not the time for you to be saying, "Woe is me." It's the time to act.

People forget that the Dollar Tree sells all kinds of foods - packaged meals, baking goods, canned goods even the canned hams - look in the refrigerator and they have some meats from time to time.
Don't give up, change the things that you can change. To me, Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what you have and spending time with friends and family and not so much on a traditional dinner.
There's always 2026. You can put money to the side each month to have an extravagant Thanksgiving but this year you may just have to do simple for Thanksgiving and still be grateful!
Last year's free Butterball breast was so long dated I still have it sitting in my freezer!
ReplyDeleteGavin, that's amazing! I am keeping my fingers crossed that the rebate apps will come up with some sort of deal for a free Thanksgiving meal. A lot of my neighbors are at home instead of being at work.
