It's September which means that we can go to our rebate apps and requests our funds!!!!
The most exciting thing that happened to me in August is getting Vons/Albertsons Zip Code Advantage x 2!!!!! I got the free canned diced tomatoes, cheap produce and a slice of vanilla cake for $1.14!!! I am keeping my fingers cross for tomorrow to see if the offer pops up for me again as a couple readers left comments that the offer usually returns for a second...and sometimes, third week!
Right after discovering the Zip Code Advantage x 2, I received an emails from CVS inviting me to take a survey for a $10 Extra Bucks!!!!! I haven't had an invite to take a CVS survey in about six or seven years. I'm surprise that they had my information to send me an invite!π€£
Over the weekend, I was doing some reflecting because last week, I had to move money out of my checking account into my savings account because I had way too much money in checking. I don't even know how I had accumulated all that money in my checking account, I think it was from not spending my budgeted discretionary money and it just kinda built up. Technically, each month, I should zero out each bill. My monthly set discretionary fund is $350 per month and how I came up with that amount, I honestly know but the $350 was set up years ago. I have all kinds of things budgeted like Plane Tickets, Car Registration, Insurance...I have all kinds of stuff in our budget.
I am saying all that to say check your budget or create a budget if you don't have one. You can go on Youtube and search "How to create a budget for beginners" or "How to create a budget template". Many years ago, when I was learning how to get out of the debt and save money, I had to go into the forums to figure out what I needed to know about saving money. I actually did a modified version of Dave Ramsey's program but I can't remember the name of his program now. I think I gave myself one or two years to pay off my debt and I paid it off in like severn months because I used my tax refunds, work bonuses, I sold some things on eBay, I asked my family to give me money instead of a gift so I pay off my debts...and they loved what I was doing and they gave me EXTRA money towards my debt repayment!
People are shameful about admitting that they've made mistakes. For me, personally, I don't want to hide me, I want to live in my truth whatever that may be...the good, the bad and ugly.
Anyways, I received $64.72 from Ibotta, $25 Amazon gift card from SB, $25 Amazon gift card from MP, $25 Amazon gift card from SK and $25 Amazon gift card from Fetch.
