This morning, my brother, Dave sent me a "Happy Fall" text and I had completely forgotten that it's the first day of fall! My mom loved the change of seasons and when we were growing up, she would put out seasonal decor for each change of season and she'd always change out the table cloth in the dining room. We really do miss mom but she's still with us, however, she has Alzheimer. I think the last time mom recognized me was in 2013 when I was home for my sister-in-law's funeral but she was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer in about 2005 but I think she's had it since, at least 2001.
Anyways, hold your love ones close because things can change in the blink of eye! Enjoy your first day of fall! I need to pick up some hot chocolate!
