Money Matters

It's January which means that we can go to our rebate apps and requests our funds!!!!

When I wrote Check Your Shopkick Account post, at the time, I honestly had no idea how many people participated in that deal. I am thinking like a couple hundred thousand did the deal. I read how people bought 5 sets of 10 of the Old Spice deodorant that's a lot of trust in a rebate app that they'd pay you the points.  I thought when I bought my eight deodorant was a lot but there was so much euphoria over that the deodorant deal but I trusted my instincts and stuck to my guns that eight was enough.

I also instinctively knew to cash out when they awarded me the points for the Old Spice...and this is from my experience shopping at CVS, way back in the day, when they use to have those amazing glitch deals.

Another thing I learned from CVS couponing is as soon as they awarded me the points, I cashed out for an Amazon gift card.  You see, sometimes what would happen is that an Extra Buck would print out for a higher amount.  For example, if you bought two hair care items and the the Extra Buck would print out for $25 instead of $5.  If you ran and did that deal, you'd have turn around and use the $25 ECB because the CVS programmers can program the $25 ECBs to act like a $5 ECB.  This is why I love getting Amazon gift card

I read that those that got Walmart and other gift cards, the Shopkick programmers where able to DISABLE those gift cards.  simplyraylina_ on Instagram posted the gift card pictured above because they had disabled her gift card and stole her points.

Again, if you did not get your Shopkick points or if they stole your Shopkick points just return the products back to Walmart and it's the perfect time because right after Christmas everyone is making returns at Walmart.

If a deal is too good to be true...you've got to move swiftly!

Buckle up because it's going to be a long 12 months.  I recommend that you learn to cook at home rather than going out of eat to save a lot of money.  To me, going out to eat should be for very special occasions not as a weekly event.  Cook your meals at home.  Go online to find new recipes for cooking chicken, steaks, or eggs, etc. to save money.  Why spend $40 at McDonald's or Burger King when you can cook a fantastic meal at home for $40?

I received $15.41 from the Grove Coffee Pods lawsuit, I received $90.72 from Ibotta, $150 in Amazon gift card from Shopkick, (2) $25 Amazon gc from Swagbucks, $24.57 from BrandClub, $21.24 from CO51.

Below are some of my favorite deals in the month of December:
