When I was growing up in Sacramento, I lived out in the suburbs as one of my dad's military friends had bought a home, in the community of Fair Oaks which was right next to the community of Granite Bay and the community of Orangevale was next it and it was where our elementary school was located.  When we were growing up in Fair Oaks, it was considered the country because it was like a 25 minute drive to downtown Sacramento.  It was also considered country because down the street, in the same housing development, one of our neighbors had a house with horse stables and we'd walk down there and pet the horses.
