Longshoremen going on strike at the ports October 1st?

It was recently announced that the Longshoremen's Labor Unions along the East Coast and Gulf Coast ports are gearing up for a strike on October 1st.  These people haven't been in negotiation talks with the union since June 2024 and these ports handle almost half of the distribution of goods from the ships.

We all recall that during the COVID19 lockdowns, and there was some kind of problems at the ports and the Walmart and the grocery stores shelves were empty.  You may want to stock up on your essentials like toilet paper.
