CVS BONUS

A reader, Nick, shares the following:

Wifey figured it out!!! 🏆

Here’s what I did wrong.

I made two purchases about 3 days apart using the 5% offer. And on the bonus page I got 2 check marks, indicating that I only needed one more purchase to earn the $5.

The $5 offer did reset (or at least I think it did). But I didn’t need anything at CVS for awhile. And, more importantly, there was no “clock” or date on the bonus offer to indicate it would expire.

But, it did.

And so what I saw this week was a complete reset where it says purchases made before 8/7 are excluded.

So… since great minds think alike (🤣) Wifey came to the conclusion that we need a specific strategy to not miss out again,

So here’s what we will came up with and suggest everyone do.

Once you get the 5% offer, head to CVS as soon as you get the chance. Purchase what you like, but if there’s more than one item that qualifies buy it in a separate transaction. NOTE: we do not have our CVS cards linked to Ibotta because we want the control over how offers are submitted.

Then, simply wait for the 5% to reset and submit the next receipt for what you already purchased. If you don’t get all 3 $5 offers to rest within one week be sure all Ibotta offers have been submitted before those receipts expire. But do time them so you don’t get caught short on the $5 bonus like I did last time!

  1. SUNNY SUNDAY UPDATE: So it appears that the 5% CVS offer will indeed reset after 24 hours! I first saw it on Thursday afternoon, made a purchase, it popped up again on Friday, bought something small Friday night, and here it is again today. I’m rushing over to buy anything at CVS that will qualify to collect the $5 bonus.

As I mentioned earlier you can save yourself this trouble of multiple trips if you need several items at CVS by breaking it down into 3 separate transactions. Submit the first receipt as soon as the 5% offer is showing and activated. Then, simply wait at least one day for the 5% offer to reset and then submit your next receipt. Repeat, and after the 3rd submission you should earn the $5 bonus.

Don’t wait, because the 5% offer as well as the $5 bonus can disappear on you without warning. That’s what happened to me last time but now we’ve learned and are outsmarting them! 🤣
