The price of a gallon of gas has once again shot up to "I better stay my butt at home" pricing. My local San Diegans, this Mobil gas station is at El Cajon & Texas Street in North Park and the price of the regular gas is $6.45.
If you have not been following the news, under ocean gas pipeline between Russian and Germany was sabotaged and there are currently three different leaks. Of course, any kind gas disruption will cause gas prices to go up.
Ten years ago, the European Union switched from using coal for heating to natural gas to curb global warming but Russia is the largest source of the natural gas and then they decided invade the Ukraine and here we are today.
Of course, high gas prices also means that everything else will go up exponentially because consumer goods are brought to the store by truck.

my husband paid $6.899 a gallon in Fullerton yesterday
ReplyDeleteOMG, Cheryl...$6.899 per gallon is crazy and they're saying that our home energy prices are going to be through the roof. I was looking on Amazon for heavy winter blankets.🤣
Deleteoh my... my DH buys gas at Sams Club, it was $5.70/gal (fountain valley) premium gas. almost worth paying for membership if you don't have one, I imagine Costco gas is similiarly priced. Times like this make me 💖 my car even more....have a Volt
ReplyDeleteWe only have one Sam's Club in San Diego county and it doesn't have a gas station, the nearest Costco has no gas station. However, according to Gas Buddy there are 5 gas stations that has regular gas for $6.09 which includes a Costco about 5 miles away.
Deletemy husband used to always get gas at Costco but the lines are to long so he would just be wasting gas sitting there. He went Sunday at 6am and cars were already lined up even though there was a sign they wouldn't be opening for 4 hours
ReplyDeleteIt seems, lately, that a lot of gas stations have lines...and I go to the gas stations at about 10 a.m....I swear no one in San Diego has a job bc they all go to the gas station when I go!🤣
