How do you offer a college graduate a $35k/year job?

These companies are so disrespectful bc how do you offer a young college graduate a salary of $35k per year like it’s the year 1980? He’s still got to pay student loans, keep a roof over his head, eat and the interviewer has the audacity to say that considering the job market and how 15 years ago, he made $15/hr but apartment rents didn’t take up a large chunk of your pay.

I have quit jobs without notice because I am not going to be treated like a dog...and let me say that every time that I stood up for myself and quit a job, a way better opportunity came my way!

I would have hung up on the Zoom call and blocked the number because the company is offering modern day slavery. He could do better doing Door Dash or Uber Eats.

The company should have made the position, an intern position because I don't even know how you can get anyone to interview for a job for only $35,000 per year.
