Over the last six months to a year, there has been Rite Aid store closures due to the anticipation of bankruptcy and their eventual filing for bankruptcy. The people on the NextDoor.com have been complaining about how the store closures have been a blight to their neighborhoods. Below is a small list of the Rite Aid store closures that I could find:
Rite Aid in Lemon Grove
Rite Aid next to the Kaiser Hospital on Zion Ave
Rite Aid on El Cajon Blvd next to the US Post Office
Rite Aid on Balboa Ave
My neighborhood Rite Aid on Adams Ave, as well as, the Rite Aid in Hillcrest are still open and I believe that all of the downtown San Diego Rite Aid stores are also still open. I don't know about if there are Rite Aid closures in the South Bay or North County because NextDoor doesn't cover those areas for my zip code.
As a side note, they are supposed to be turning the recently closed Big Lot store, in Clairemont Mesa, into a Trader Joe's. In my area, we have TWO Trader Joe's and in my opinion, they could turn all of closed Big Lot stores into Trader Joe's and those neighborhoods are definitely more than large enough to support those stores.
I feel the same in regards to the closed 99 Cents Only stores here. None of them, except for one a little drive away, are turning into a Dollar Tree.
ReplyDeleteGrocery Outlet should seriously consider getting these unused 99 Cents Only store properties and convert them.
Hopefully, someone grabs those properties and create new jobs.
