When I arrived at my brother's home, three weeks ago, he had just bought and moved into his new home, the weekend prior to my nephew's passing.
There were still boxes everywhere and there was very little food and cleaning supplies. He only had one hand wash and I moved it into the guest bathroom. Y'all know that I like washing my hands and so in my mind, buying hand soap and cleaning supplies was the first thing on my to do agenda BUT first I have to take of my brother who is mourning and I had to go grocery shopping because he didn't know when was the last time he ate.
I then had to get his house organized but David is pretty neat so all I really needed to do was unpack those boxes and get the items into their proper place.
Then the FREE + MM Softsoap hand soap deal popped up and I ran to Walmart (as far as I know the San Diego Walmarts do not carry the limited edition Softsoap hand soap) which is literally a 5 minute drive. I got him like 12 of the hand soap and that should last him 6 months to a year. But then Shopkick kept making the deal better and better and I ended up with an addition 20 of them.
Thankfully, my brother has lots of friends that comes over to not only to pay respects for his loss but also to check on him and we were able to give those friends...FREE hand soap!
My brother loved that I had distracted him from his grief with all the hand soap and that we were able to share the hand soap with friends and family and have a good laugh.🤣
Thanks for sharing this story - made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteLS as traumatic as death is, we still needed to get things done like shop for food, decide on a headstone and put gas in the car...and have a good laugh.
DeleteSending you and your sweet brother blessings and a giant hug.
