Plotting and Planning

Man, oh man, was I kinda sad that I missed out on the FREE BIC razors (NLA), yesterday, but I wasn't meant to get in on that deal. In San Diego, the razors wasn't sold at CVS nor Rite Aid and there was only one Walgreens that carried both the men and women razors and when I walked into that Walgreens, someone had literally trashed all the razors. Another weird thing about this store (I have been inside the store tons of times because I used to worked down the street from the store) is that they had moved the men and women razors to where the greeting cards are normally located.  Point Loma is a very odd neighborhood, in the city of San Diego.  It's a mixture of military bases, homeless folks and the stifling traffic, you could not pay me to live in Point Loma.

OMG, on Friday, I went to Vons and there was so many people inside the store and I assume it was because of the Buy 10 for $5 sale. People were walking around with their sales ad in their hands.  The Lucerne milks that's on sale for $1.83 was completely wiped from the shelves.

I was grateful to find the some of the $1.99 Alexia frozen potatoes, although, they were pretty wiped out, too.  Of course, I did grab some of the Danish Creamery butter as it's an awesome deal, as well as, the Hormel Natural Choice lunchmeat for $2.24 each.

Food Items that goes on sale or there's a deal on and my family eats on a regular basis, I always max out the deal. I'd rather pay the $2.24 for lunchmeat rather than the $5.99 regular price.  Four packs of lunchmeat is four weeks of lunches.

Food prices are still high compared to this time, last year. I used to be able to get a dozen eggs for $0.98 at the Walmart. Of course, I understand about the bird flu and why eggs are higher but when we pay a higher prices for food, it means that we must cut back on discretionary spending.

What is the deal with the lettuce at Vons?  Their lettuce, at least at my two nearest stores, is unsightly. Like the lettuce looks old and disgusting.  It should be thrown into the fields for the rabbits to eat.

Easter is right around the corner so make plans accordingly.  I know that times are tough but you don't have to go all out for Easter, there is nothing wrong with simplicity. Make a simple Easter basket, a simple Easter dinner and call it the day.  People are doing too much with the whole $100 and $200 Easter baskets.  Stop with the my kids/grandkids are doing good so deserve a $100-$200 basket.  Your kids deserve parents that aren't stressed out about trying to keep up with the Joneses.  Your kids want love not stuff.

It is supposed to rain on Wednesday, in San Diego, so plan to make a hardier meal like spaghetti or chili or lasagna especially since we are able to pick up cheap beans and pasta at the Vons Buy 10 for $5 sales promotion and we can do the deal twice.

There will be a Smart Source and Save coupon inserts in the newspapers or depending upon where you live, it may be delivered to your mailbox or out in your drive way or lawn.

It’s Saturday …enjoy your day! On Sundays, I take the day off from blogging.

  1. I've definitely been restocking my freezer from the MMs we've been getting. I check out the Walmart Supercenters near me (as some of the MM items are only found there), and look for the huge yellow square sticker.
