UPDATE: I am out of Ibotta Jail and I have withdrawn my money.
On Saturday night, I watched this YouTube video and she was talking about the ibotta changes and that she'd been locked out of her Ibotta account for more than a week after she'd requested to be cashed out via PayPal. I had one more rebate to redeem and I'd complete the $5 weekend warrior so on Sunday, I went over to Vons and grabbed the Ferrero chocolate bar and I was done with the weekend warrior bonus.
I went into the Ibotta app and I linked my PayPal account to my Ibotta account for the umpteenth time. I submitted my receipt to Ibotta per usual, and then I requested to withdraw to my PayPal account $79.23.
As soon as, I confirmed that I wanted to withdraw the money, I get the "Something didn't look quite right" lie. I am kinda surprised that PayPal hasn't gotten sick of Ibotta using their name in vane each and every time, they want to put us in "Audit Jail".
Anyways, I won't be participating in any ibotta deals until they release me from their Audit Jail. The Youtuber was in Jail for like 10 days and whenever they decide to release is when I'll go back to doing Ibotta deals. I want to say that this is the first time that I've been in Ibotta Jail.
This experience also tells me that from now on that I will be requesting my funds each time I hit the minimum threshold of $20.
This is a heads up that you may go into Audit Jail, if you request your funds.😡
I have been twice. Once was because I had requested to withdraw twice within 24 hours (I had a big online rebate come thru earlier than expected after I made my first withdrawal). This flagged them. Second time was an honest mistake (didn't realize Target account was linked after I made an online pick up order, and I scanned a receipt so they thought I was being dishonest. It does in fact take several days for them to respond. Best of luck.
ReplyDeleteWhen almost everyone was getting audited 2 or 3 years ago just before the COVID lockdowns, I was prepared to be audited...and I was never audited.🤣 I am so thankful that I don't have hundreds of dollars in my account like some.
DeleteOn Ibotta it says linking with Paypal is unavailable, but will be back soon! Withdraw to a gift card or from your bank account instead.
ReplyDeleteDenise, I did see the PayPal message for a couple of weeks and that message has now disappeared from my Ibotta account. This would have been my second withdrawal, this month.
