GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!!! HELLO, CHERYL!!!
Please, request your funds/gift cards from the rebate apps! January was a really, really slow month and I guess Walmart warned that it doesn't look like a bright future because people have run out of money...and these pesky tariffs. I finally got over to Walmart and picked up the powdered Coffee Mate creamer, 500 servings, for $6.98.
Thank goodness, we have made it to February because January was like we were living in the Twilight Zone. My goodness, the firing of so many federal employees and the American Eagle/Army Helicopter mid-air crash at Regan National in Washington DC was absolutely shocking. I flown into and out of that airport, at least, 20 times for work. It's a very big, busy airport and you know that you are in our nation's capital, the whole atmosphere, the whole aesthetics of landing at Regan National is different from other large airports. Washington D.C. in January is so cold and once to pick up your luggage and you have to walk that country mile, outside, for your rental car and those harsh winds off the Potomac River are hitting your face, ears, hands and feet. I knew when I saw the commercial plane and the helicopter hit the Potomac River that no one had survived. Hug your family members tight because you just never know.
The internet is undefeated because when last night when the medical jet went down in a Chicago neighborhood, the people on Twitter/X knew that it was a medical transport from Mexico with two pilots, two doctors and a pediatric patient and a guardian. The flight was due in Tijuana on Friday at 9:15 p.m. So, so sad.
I already told my family I will not be flying unless it's an emergency.
Okay, it's finally February and I am praying for a reprieve from all of the drama in January. The deportations are a mess and the farmers are saying since the migrants are in hiding that means we will have higher food prices. The politicians need to be honest and say we need the migrants to work the farms. When I was working in Ventura county on a 4 month temporary assignment, every morning, I'd see the border patrol agents round up the migrants....EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Like maybe we should treat the migrants like the H1B1 folks and the farmer is the sponsor. I don't know that the answer is but to put in Cuba is not the answer.
I know that they said the price avocados and tomatoes and tomato based products will go up exponentially, if the tariffs are implemented. I want to say that I saw on YouTube or maybe it was Instagram that you can grow avocados at home from an avocado pit and of course, you grow tomatoes at home but I think there's a lot of bugs and caterpillars involved with growing tomatoes.π€£
